Broadside of report concerning Indian relations, 1785 September 12.

Report from the War Office to a Congressional committee asking that a special person be appointed an agent of Indian affairs with a salary and authority to give presents and be a liason between the Indians and Congress. The Congressional committee's response to the letter from Mr. Kirkland, 14 September, involved the appointing of an agent to deal with the Six Nations in upholding the Treaty of Fort Stanwix and in making a new treaty "at the mouth of the Great Miami".
